Julie's love of nature, the landscape and the natural environment, inspires her to paint and interpret the surroundings, mostly in watercolour. She tries to reflect nature in its huge variety, with an affinity for vegetation (grasses/reeds/trees), the sea and coastal scenes, estuaries and marshes, changing seasons. This generates a huge diversity of output and interpretation, with both subtle and vivid shades, pastels and vibrant hues reflective of nature itself.

Julie loved art and literature when younger, but despite having a picture in an art gallery at 8 years old it has taken a long time to come back to painting and the last 10 years has seen her develop her  understanding of watercolours, how to paint more freely and experiment to achieve a myriad of outcomes.
