A li Hansen is a contemporary illustrator based in Warwickshire. Her work consists primarily of watercolour creations within a wide range of subject matter. Ali worked for many years as a fashion illustrator within the UK and internationally. Originally trained as a fashion designer and illustrator at the University of Westminster in London, she has now returned to her first love which is fashion and lifestyle illustration. Working primarily in pen and ink and watercolours with some added digital effects using Photoshop. Ali currently sells limited edition prints of her work at artisan markets across the Midlands. Her work has been described as fun, clever, different and colourful. Ali sees things in modern life which she finds stylish and cool and loves to celebrate everyday things in a whimsical watercolour pop art style. "I enjoy putting intelligence and thought into my art pieces and love creating different narratives. I also love to include a sense of humour in my pieces" says Ali. Having grown up in the UK Ali thinks of her art as quintessentially British with a very iconic look to it. Past clients include Harrods, Selfridges, Elie Saab, Juicy Couture, The Telegraph, Missoni, the BBC, Carven, La Redoute, Marks and Spencer, Victoria and Albert Museum, Brides Magazine, Wella, and The Natural History Museum amongst others.

Anya Simmons was born in 1969 in
Uganda and moved to Nairobi, Kenya in 1972. Living in Africa for the first
fourteen years of her life and then moving to the UK had a profound impact on the
diversity of her work and where many of her creative ideas have
emerged. Anya has always had a passion for
art and her more recent works are profoundly influenced by beautiful
coastal landscapes, quirky harbours, and the ever-changing countryside of Great
Britain. “I enjoy working with various mediums creating an exciting blend
of textures, shapes, and vibrant colours; whilst continually experimenting
with the effects that can be created using gesso, acrylic and acrylic inks. I
love the depth of colour, movement and versatility that can be achieved
using these elements” says Anya. Often, she will imagine a scene and
decide how she wants certain colours to flow together to create a particular
atmosphere. Anya gets enormous pleasure from examining the form, colours, light
and textures within our diverse landscape and she continually strives to capture
this. Her imaginative collection also
includes a quirky series of paintings incorporating the world and moon.
They incorporate real and imaginary places and colourful characters, with the
aim to make her audience smile.

The ragged staff is believed to refer to Morvidus, an early legendary Earl of Warwick who is said to have slain a giant with a young ash tree torn up by the roots. The emblem of a bear (Latin ursus ) is believed to refer to Urse d'Abetot (c.1040-1108), 1st feudal baron of Salwarpe in Worcestershire, a Norman who followed King William the Conqueror to England, and served as Sheriff of Worcestershire. His heir was his son-in-law Walter de Beauchamp (died 1130/3), whose descendant was William de Beauchamp, 9th Earl of Warwick (c.1238-1298), the eldest son of William de Beauchamp of Elmley by his wife Isabel de Mauduit, sister and heiress of William Mauduit, 8th Earl of Warwick.
