A li Hansen is a contemporary illustrator based in Warwickshire. Her work consists primarily of watercolour creations within a wide range of subject matter. Ali worked for many years as a fashion illustrator within the UK and internationally. Originally trained as a fashion designer and illustrator at the University of Westminster in London, she has now returned to her first love which is fashion and lifestyle illustration.  Working primarily in pen and ink and watercolours with some added digital effects using Photoshop. Ali currently sells limited edition prints of her work at artisan markets across the Midlands. Her work has been described as fun, clever, different and colourful. Ali sees things in modern life which she finds stylish and cool and loves to celebrate everyday things in a whimsical watercolour pop art style. "I enjoy putting intelligence and thought into my art pieces and love creating different narratives. I also love to include a sense of humour in my pieces" says Ali. Having grown up in the UK Ali thinks of her art as quintessentially British with a very iconic look to it. Living in Africa for the first fourteen years of her life and then moving to  the UK had a profound impact on the diversity of her work and where many of  her creative ideas have emerged.  Anya has always had a passion for art and her more recent works are  profoundly influenced by beautiful coastal landscapes, quirky harbours, and the  ever-changing countryside of Great Britain. “I enjoy working with various  mediums creating an exciting blend of textures, shapes, and vibrant colours;  whilst continually experimenting with the effects that can be created using  gesso, acrylic and acrylic inks. I love the depth of colour, movement and  versatility that can be achieved using these elements” says Anya.  Often, she will imagine a scene and decide how she wants certain colours to flow  together to create a particular atmosphere. Anya gets enormous pleasure from  examining the form, colours, light and textures within our diverse landscape and  she continually strives to capture this.  Her imaginative collection also includes a quirky series of paintings  incorporating the world and moon.
